ASHLEY DRIER
General Manager, Technical Services - StayWell Interactive

Ashley joined StayWell Interactive in May of 2008 as the General Manager of the division. She brings over 13 years of software product development experience including Product Management, Project Management, and IT leadership. Prior to joining MediMedia, Ms. Dreier was the Director of Product Development for GE Capital's Corporate Payment Services division where she led the product development efforts for GE's web-application products. Prior to GE, she was the Director of Program Management at Wolters Kluwer Medical Research/Ovid Technologies leading the team responsible for management of all software product initiatives. She was originally hired into the company as Director Information Services leading the Management Information Systems and Business Analyst teams. Ms. Dreier began her career at Boeing as a Senior Financial Analyst where she assisted with the development of several software application projects. She holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting with Management Information Systems emphasis from the University of Utah.

CAREY HUTCHINS

Carey is a results-oriented professional with over 12 years of experience in client implementation, project management, needs analysis and training development. She brings proven abilities in strategic planning and the scoping of both internal and external projects. Carey provides additional expertise in improving productivity and processes, through the analysis of existing programs and operations, and implementation of strategies, processes, and technologies. Throughout Ms. Hutchins' career, she has been brought in to various positions to streamline processes and increase efficiencies, while decreasing costs. Ms. Hutchins is responsible for all StayWell Custom Communications client implementations to ensure on-time delivery of the product within scope and within budget. Carey holds a bachelor's of science degree in Marketing and a master's in human resource development degree from Clemson University.

JONATHAN LAMBERT

Jon has worked for in a number of roles within the health care industry for over 14 years. Prior to joining SCC, Jon was an IT director for a large managed healthcare company where he was responsible for product development, complex implementation projects and customer service. He has also worked in a national sales capacity. In his current position at SCC as the Director of Client Services he will be responsible for leading the client and technical services team and overseeing online client implementations. Jon received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah and also holds a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine.

DAPHNE PIERCE-SMITH

Daphne is a writer for SCC and serves as the chairperson for the Quality Oversight Committee. She has over 23 years of professional experience in healthcare, and has held several leadership positions – nurse manager, research manager, lead research coordinator, change agent, educator - for two school of medicines, two teaching hospitals, and several healthcare institutions. Ms. Pierce-Smith has been a pediatric nursing instructor at a major university, and adjunct faculty in the Clinical Research Professionals program at a college in the metro Atlanta area. Daphne also functioned as a guest researcher for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) while working at Emory University School of Medicine (EUSOM) for almost eight years. Ms. Pierce-Smith has sat on several regulatory, academic, state, and national boards, as well as a local institutional review board (research). For several years, she sat on the Commission for Nursing Practice for Georgia Nursing Association and wrote articles for their official publication, Georgia Nursing. Daphne also sat on the executive board of the Association of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition Nurses (APGNN), and served as the chairperson of their research committee for four years. She has been a member of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) for ten years, and served as a Georgia ambassador for six years. Ms. Pierce-Smith is a published author; has written chapters in two gastroenterology (GI) textbooks and one clinical GI handbook; and has co-authored numerous abstracts, manuscripts, and medical and nursing articles. Daphne holds a master's of science degree in nursing in the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) track. She is a certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC), and has recently completed a two-year certification program in healthcare management.

Louise Akin

A writer for SCC, Louise has over 14 years of professional experience in healthcare. She worked primarily in a cardiovascular (CV) surgical step-down unit and an intensive care unit (ICU) at Emory University Hospital (EUH) in Atlanta, Georgia. Ms. Akin served as a member of the Residency Preceptor Program mentoring new nurses into the CVICU. As department Safety Representative, Louise was responsible for coordinating staff education for Joint Commission Surveys. She has worked as a Telephone Triage nurse in the cardiovascular area providing patient education and management of pro-times. Ms Akin has directed staff orientation and development of the Right Heart Cath program and services at EUH. Louise is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, Nursing Honor Society.

MELISSA TOLBER

Melissa has served as served as an editor for consumer publications and Web sites for 12 years. For the past eight years, she has helped SCC and its clients distill clinical information for a broader consumer audience. Ms. Tobler also overseas SCC’s NCQA compliance partnership program, in which she consults with health plans and other health organizations on how they can meet standards involving health education and wide-scale communications. Ms. Tobler developed SCC’s first medical review process for print content and currently oversees the reviewers. Her NCQA expertise and involvement in medical review for the organization also helps guide SCC business practices and policies regarding content development. In her role of editorial manager, also helps work to improve internal business processes. In addition, she is part of team who develops and implements necessary staff training and advises staff on best practices for clients. Melissa has a bachelor’s of science degree in Journalism from Southern Illinois University. She holds a master’s in Teaching from National Louis University.

BETH WILSON NERGARD

Beth has been with StayWell Custom Communications for 13-years, and works closely with many health plan and employer clients on a variety of communication programs. One of Ms. Wilson's roles is to evaluate trends and movements in the healthcare communication industry to look for new product strategies and initiatives to bring to our clients. She works to identify strategic partners that enhance the StayWell Custom Communications capabilities to further support our client's business goals. Beth has been in a variety of clinical practice settings for over 30 years. Previously, she worked at Texas Instruments in the corporate health promotion department, where she planned, developed, implemented and evaluated health education and risk intervention programs. Ms. Wilson has a master's degree in education from Tennessee State University.

DAVID BENNETT

Dave was the former Director of Web Resource Services at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). He also served as the Chairman of the Web Committee for Health Sciences South Carolina (HSSC). Mr. Bennett is a member of HIMMS, Society of Healthcare Strategy and Market Development (SHSMD) and the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). Prior to joining the Medical University in 2003, Dave was the former Vice President for Business Development at Bio-Reference Laboratories (BRLI) and also served as a Vice President at BRLI’s wholly owned subsidiary, CareEvolve.com. Dave currently serves as a consultant to several other healthcare organizations and companies, including MediCorp Health System and the Yul Brynner Head and Neck Cancer Foundation. Mr. Bennett also consults for Elsevier/ International Medical News Group, one of the world’s leading publishers of science and health information on building Web 2.0 strategies to engage physicians. He holds bachelor's of science degrees from The Citadel and the Medical University of South Carolina. Dave also holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration and Finance from the Warwick Business School.

Stephanie joined StayWell in November 2002 as Vice President of Product Development. Since joining the company, she has grown the product line into robust suite of education products and services that improve patient outcomes and increase patient satisfaction. Prior to joining StayWell, Stephanie was a founding member of the senior management team for Elsevier Science Inc.’s MD Consult, a leading online medical information service adopted by 95 percent of U.S. medical schools and used in more than 1,900 medical facilities worldwide by 300,000 physicians and other health professionals. Prior to MD Consult, Stephanie served for 12 years as an editor at Mosby, part of Elsevier Science, managing print and electronic publishing programs in primary care medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, cardiology, emergency medicine and OB/GYN. Her early years at Mosby were spent as a New York City-based health science representative selling to medical, dental, nursing and allied health schools throughout the Northeast. Stephanie began her publishing career at Harper & Row in New York. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
